Refresh & Renew Virtual Retreat
Congratulations!
You’ve taken a great first step towards using this time at home in a positive way. Isolation can make us feel dull and less than our normal amazing selves. That’s why it’s a fantastic time for self care. This 3 day regimen gives you an itinerary designed to not only reboot your physical system but also give you a feeling of confidence and power over your future.
There are 4 components that are important to self assess before starting. All are of equal importance.
The first is resting. This retreat calls for early to bed and early to rise. Why? Early morning hours work well for meditation for many people. Waking up early with a sense of purpose helps you not only feel better and get more done in the day, it helps you sleep better at night. Sleeping well is the goal. It’s how we heal our bodies, maintain a strong immune system and stimulate our creative minds. If your personal rhythm is different, feel free to modify. However, if you’ve never tried waking and going to bed early, it’s just 3 days. Give it a try.
The second important thing is food. We’re suggesting healthy menus that are great for the vast majority of people. If you have food allergies or are intolerant of any foods suggested, please omit or change them. If you don’t know what to substitute, our food guru, Carolyn Marie can help. If you can eat most foods, give these healthy menus a try. Food, like rest, helps your body work well, feeds your immune system and helps you think better. Try these balanced meals from Carolyn Marie and notice how you feel.
Third, we move. Movement helps our circulatory system, muscles and even bones stay healthier. And it stimulates endorphins, those feel good hormones that help battle the blues. These 3 days, we’ll move every day, substantial movement at that. Take it at your pace. This is not a race. But allow yourself to feel the joy in movement as you complete all the classes and self exercise.
The fourth component is journaling. You’ll never remember how you feel differently unless you make a note and write about it. So take a moment to get yourself a journal or make one with some paper stapled together or tied together and get ready. Have some fun with it. We give you space to document each day. After you’ve finished, you can read it back, see where to modify and what to incorporate into your daily life. There’ll be things to keep and things to let go of altogether. Life is a process.
