Day 3: Virtually Confident

I saw that my life was a vast glowing empty page and I could do anything I wanted

Begin your day with gratitude. Look for that spark of enthusiasm for a new day as you gently do some shoulder rolls,  head circles, ankle rolls and whatever it is you need before coming to the mat for pranayama and silent meditation. The recording is right here:

Notice how you feel now and move your lovely body for about 20 minutes and join us for 9 am yoga flow:

Today is the third day and perhaps in your journal take a moment to feel for any intuitions or new ideas you have this morning. Ask yourself if you love moving in the morning. Or is there a new habit that makes you feel good that you want to continue. Write it down and perhaps commit to it.

After lunch, take a moment for an invigorating body scrub. This wonderful home recipe will not only exfoliate and soften but will invigorate your body and your day.

ANTIOXIDANT BODY SCRUB

  • 1/2 cup brown, raw sugar

  • 1/4 cup used coffee grinds

  • 1/4 cup Epsom salts

  • 1 cup coconut oil

  • 1/2 cup honey

If you use essential oils you can add drops of ginger or lemongrass or other oil to personalize the blend. Mix entire mixture in a large bowl until the consistency is that of a slushy. If you want to let your hands have a treat, use them to mix it up. Move the mixture into a covered container and store it in the fridge. Separate a smaller container for the bath. When applying to the body, repeat to yourself, I AM GRATEFUL FOR THIS HEALTHY, STRONG, VIBRANT BODY. I AM NOURISHED AND COMPLETE. I ACCEPT MYSELF. Ideally dry brush the body first, then scrub, then shower! The oil and honey make the floor a little slippery so be careful. Also the coffee can stain so best to clean it up right away. The coffee is full of antioxidants and the honey and coconut will make your skin feel amazing. The sugar is great for exfoliating too!

We’re finishing our retreat with a Yin practice. Yin yoga is powerful and a great way to cultivate mindfulness in your life. Especially in times of stress, it’s great to slow down, focus on the breath and heal yourself. This last practice focuses poses that stimulate the liver / gallbladder meridian. These are processing organs that help clear our bodies of toxins and as we open them, we can also clear our bodies of toxic emotions like self doubt, self criticism and guilt. So remember to hold the pose for the specified time and look for your edge or your limit for entering the pose. That’s a place where you can stay still, in the mind and in the body without fidgeting or any pain. Challenge is one thing, or discomfort perhaps. But we never want  pain. If your body invites you to back off of the pose or come out of it, remember to accept the invitation. If your body invites you to go deeper, think about accepting, or not.

Here you are:
