Flow classes are led by almost all of our teachers, including Ursula, Ricardo, Mariana, Barbara and our founder, Joanne. Vinyasa Flow is a practice where we move fluidly between postures (asanas) in rhythm with the breath, often using sun salutations as the means to do so. The word “vinyasa” can be translated as “arranging something in a special way,” like yoga poses. These classes are 60 minutes.
Iyengar with Eugenia is Hatha Yoga focused on alignment. The practice is based in the tradition of the style's founder, BKS Iyengar, who not only developed the style but also many of the props we use at Tribal to enter the postures in an aligned and safe manner. If you have a block, blanket and strap at home, they’ll come in handy. Otherwise we’ll offer alternatives. These classes are 90 minutes and begin with the opening mantra that gives thanks to all the yoga teachers who’ve come before us.
Yin Yoga is a practice that cultivates mindfulness and body awareness. We hold poses from 1 to 10 minutes with the goal of releasing myofascial tension and blocks to the free movement of energy in the body. These classes are primarily led by our fearless leader, Joanne, and are 60 to 90 minutes. Yin Yang practices add movement in the form of flow into the long holds. It is a great way to combine or start your yin practice if you already practice vinyasa flow. Meditation practices are audio only and led by all of our instructors!
Dance Flow is led by Ursula and combines fun beats and dance moves that will leave you feeling energized and open, perhaps more confident and motivated than ever before. A huge smile is guaranteed! These classes are 60 minutes.
