Restorative Yoga

Privates only

Restorative Yoga gives your body the opportunity to renew its energy and vital force.

By holding poses in a supported and focused manner, we let our body relax into openness using focus on the breath. This relaxed and soft approach allows for opening and renewal surpassed by many other more active practices.

Hatha Yoga

Friday at 10 am

Hatha Yoga is the basis for all other practices. Explore your body and the breath body connection with Blanca in her wonderfully flowing hatha practice as you dig into the essence of the yoga asanas.

Yin Yang

Saturday at 10 am

Yin Yang Yoga is a practice that cultivates mindfulness and body awareness. It asks us to enter asanas deeply and stay from 1 to 10 minutes. We move after or between long holds to allow our minds to quiet and make the more meditative and deep postures easier. The goal is releasing myofascial tension and blocks to the free movement of energy (Chi) in the body.

Meditation

Full and new moons

We’ll never move forward until we forgive ourselves and others. Mediation Brahma help’s us do just that.

Meditation practices encourage silence and observance. By sitting comfortably in silence or with guidance and observing the breath, we develop the ability to see things as they are and to be present to the immensely beautiful details around us.

Offered for special occasions like new and full moons. These 45 minute meditations inspired by yogic philosophy help us move our lives and the world forward. We have some amazing online offerings in our virtual yoga library.

Iyengar Yoga

Wednesday 10 am

Iyengar Yoga is Hatha with focus on alignment. The word “hatha” can be translated as “willful” or “forceful,” or as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha): the yoga of balance. Our Iyengar classes with Eugenia offer you the chance to fine tune your asana practice with dedicated attention to each pose.

Vinyasa Flow

Monday at 10 am

Vinyasa Flow is a practice where we move fluidly between postures (asanas) in rhythm with the breath, often using sun salutations as the means to do so. The word “vinyasa” can be translated as “arranging something in a special way,” like yoga poses.

Yin Yoga

Sunday at 10 am

Yoga is “a process of fully inhabiting ourselves and our bodies in a radically engaging and inquisitive way”, Sarah Powers.

In Yin Yoga we allow ourselves to be with ourselves in postures we hold for longish period of time, generally between 2 and 10 minutes. The long holds work into the connective tissue and fascia in the physical body but also relate to Chinese medicine’s meridian theory. The meridians which run through our body work with internal organs on a functional and emotional level and are unblocked and balanced in these long holds. In Chinese medicine, our internal organs like the heart, lung kidney, liver and the rest, also have emotional components. As we work balance these meridians we not only achieve deep, lasting openness in the physical, we balance the emotions associated with these organs that guide our lives.
